The AKM22E-ANC2R-00 asynchronous motor is a brushless DC servomotor from Kollmorgen. The motor must be used in conjunction with an appropriate digital servo amplifier from the SERVOSTAR series of servo amplifiers by the manufacturer. The device may have live power connections even when it is not rotating during operation. The surface temperature of the unit can increase beyond 100°C when the servomotor is in use. The motor housing must be earthed properly to the protective earth busbar present in the switch cabinet. The synchronous device is available with a one-year warranty period.

The servomotor is fitted with a 0.5m shielded cable featuring straight connectors at its ends. The standard motor is equipped with a resolver for feedback. The resolver features a two-pole hollow shaft. The device encompasses a 24VDC holding brake that is not recommended for repeated operational braking. The holding brake helps in increasing the life of the motor and can be directly controlled by the servo amplifier. The unit has a rotor length of 2, a flange size of 2 or 58mm and a winding type of E. The nameplate of the motor offers details of various specifications such as the servomotor type, serial number, protection class, environmental temperature and so on.

The motor houses a smooth shaft. It features a winding resistance of 5.09 Ohms and a winding inductance of 9.7mH. The thermostat in the unit does not offer protection against heavy overloading or shorts. The motor must not be overstressed when it is fixed in place during assembly. If the device is mounted vertically with the shaft end upwards, care must be taken to ensure that no liquids get into the bearings.
