Product Description:
The AKM22E-ACB2C-01 servo unit is produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a permanent-magnet, brushless design, it delivers tightly regulated torque and speed for coordinated multi-axis motion. The motor is often used in pick-and-place heads, labeling stations, and compact gantries because its low inertia and matched feedback allow rapid settling without overshoot.
This motor includes a 24 V holding brake that engages automatically when supply power is removed to keep vertical loads stationary. Power, feedback, and brake voltage are routed through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, whose quarter-turn locking reduces installation time and keeps cable attachment simple. Position data are carried on four feedback lines, providing differential transmission with high noise immunity. The encoder format is SFD, a digital interface that eliminates separate resolver wiring and allows electronic nameplate storage. Internally, the sensing element uses single-turn inductive measurement, giving absolute position within 360° without the wear associated with optical code disks.
A factory-installed shaft seal protects the front bearing against coolant splash and helps support longer service intervals. The face mounting follows IEC mounting with accuracy class N tolerances, so the motor aligns directly with gearheads or pump brackets. Its square frame width is 58 mm, which fits restricted envelopes while still accommodating rotor length index 2 for moderate inertia and responsive acceleration. Mechanical coupling is straightforward because the output shaft carries a keyway that works with standard keyed hubs. Winding designation e tailors voltage constants for medium bus voltages, and the feedback head is supplied in size 10/15/21 for compact drives that use this physical envelope.
