The AKM22C-ENDNC-01 is a compact AC servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It delivers closed-loop rotational motion when paired with a compatible drive, allowing loads to be positioned accurately across a variable speed range. Within automated assembly cells, its low inertia and integrated feedback help synchronize conveyors, delta robots, and indexing tables with millisecond accuracy. The motor also maintains repeatable torque output during extended duty cycles, supporting applications that require consistent motion under changing loads.
The frame measures 58 mm across the mounting face, providing a compact footprint for machinery with limited installation space. The housing accepts a single i-tec Hybrid or SpeedTec Ready Hybrid connector that carries phase power, signals, and ground through one keyed coupling. This combined connection reduces the number of separate cable entry points required around the motor housing. The stainless-steel output end has a smooth shaft, so torque is transferred through a clamp or collet rather than a key. The embedded position sensor uses the SFD protocol and supplies position data through four signal lines, giving the drive an absolute reference without external converters. Kollmorgen assigns rotor length index 2 to this model. The motor is built without a brake, so an external clamp or drive-applied torque must hold the load when required.
A factory-fitted shaft seal blocks lubricant migration and helps the motor attain IP54 protection when it is used with a sealed gearbox. Position feedback is provided by a single-turn inductive encoder, which supplies absolute position within one mechanical revolution without relying on moving optical components. The encoder follows the Size 10/15/21 layout, allowing it to align with compatible Kollmorgen backplates and tooling fixtures. The compatible drive uses performance tables matched to winding type C, allowing its torque calculations, thermal models, and velocity gains to correspond with the motor’s resistance and back-EMF constants. These operating parameters support accurate current regulation throughout the motor’s intended speed and load range.
