The AKM22C-ANBNAA-00 is a Kollmorgen servo motor supplied under the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is a compact rotary actuator intended to provide precise torque and speed control for packaging machines, pick-and-place systems, and other motion-focused automation stations. The motor uses a 58 mm square frame, which provides a compact footprint while allowing sufficient space for the stator windings.
The motor mounts through an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing direct coupling to compatible gearboxes or load shafts without custom adapters. Power and feedback cables connect to the housing through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which support fast, tool-free mating in confined spaces. The rotor has a smooth shaft designed for clamp-style couplings. The motor is supplied without a brake, so applications that require static holding torque must rely on the drive or an external locking device. Winding code C indicates the conductor arrangement and turn count associated with the motor’s resistance, inductance, and current characteristics. The stator stack uses rotor length index 2 to balance rotational inertia with continuous torque output.
Position feedback is provided by a BiSS B encoder that transmits absolute position data to compatible digital drives. Its optical sensor provides single-turn resolution with 2048 lines per revolution, supporting accurate commutation at low speeds and responsive closed-loop control at higher speeds. Code-wheel formatting follows the AD34/AD58 interface, allowing communication with Kollmorgen and third-party controllers that support this protocol. Because the encoder measures absolute position within one revolution, it does not require a battery or multi-turn gearing. This arrangement reduces the number of feedback components while preserving immediate position data after startup. The smooth output shaft also permits precise alignment with rigid or flexible clamping couplings used in coordinated motion systems.
