The AKM22C-ACBNR-00 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for tightly integrated automation equipment, it converts regulated three-phase current from a matched drive into controlled rotation. The motor supports indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and small gantry systems where fast response and precise positioning are required.
The motor body has a 58 mm frame dimension, allowing it to fit compact machinery. Its mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N for precise alignment with gearheads or couplings, and this accuracy helps keep axial runout low during high-speed operation. Power and feedback are routed through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing quick-lock cabling while retaining shielding continuity in the field. Rotor torque reaches the load through a shaft with a keyway, which prevents slip during rapid start-and-stop duty cycles. Position and velocity feedback are generated by a resolver, which provides analog sine-cosine signals that remain reliable under elevated temperatures and vibration. This feedback method also avoids the quantization limits associated with digital encoders.
The unit is supplied without a brake, so holding torque while power is off must be provided by external mechanics or drive clamping. The lack of a brake also reduces the overall motor length. Internally, the feedback device senses two poles, and its single-turn inductive design works with the Size 10/15/21 housing class. This arrangement maintains signal fidelity over long cables and tolerates dust or oil film around the feedback assembly. The motor uses a C winding for its electromagnetic configuration, while rotor length index 2 balances inertia against continuous torque for medium-duty operating cycles. The standard configuration uses the regular materials, seals, and thermal characteristics assigned to this motor model.
