Designed for compact automation stations, it converts drive current into controlled rotary motion so that indexing heads, laboratory pipettors, or miniature pick-and-place gantries can follow precise position profiles without belt transmissions or gear reductions. The motor integrates with Kollmorgen drives through standard power and feedback cables, allowing control systems to command velocity loops and execute tightly synchronized moves on multi-axis machinery.
The housing is built on a 58 mm square frame and has an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing the motor to align directly with precision gearboxes or load adapters. Electrical termination uses a special connector arrangement that separates power and signal contacts for simplified cable routing in crowded enclosures. Position data are generated by a Comcoder sensor that provides an incremental resolution of 2048 lines per revolution to the drive, enabling fine interpolation of the shaft angle during torque control. The rotor length index is 1, which limits the rotor stack length and reduces inertia for responsive acceleration. The assembly is supplied without a brake, minimizing overall mass and allowing the drive to control deceleration without the added resistance of a mechanical holding device.
