It converts electrical energy into tightly regulated rotary motion, allowing machine controllers to position conveyors, gantry axes, or tooling heads with repeatable accuracy in industrial automation cells. This motor is supplied without a brake, so stopping and holding torque must be generated by the drive or external mechanical components when the axis is stationary.
A special connector arrangement provides a nonstandard pin orientation that can ease cable routing where installation space is limited. Rotor position data are delivered at 2048 lines per revolution; after quadrature decoding, the controller receives high-resolution feedback for smooth velocity regulation and accurate position control. The sensing element is a Comcoder, which integrates a code wheel and Hall tracks into a single body, reducing axial length compared with separate feedback components. Its count originates from a single-turn optical system, meaning one mechanical revolution maps uniquely to the electrical code without multi-turn memory.
