Product Description:
The AKM21C-CKB2C-00 is a compact servo motor in Kollmorgen's AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a brushless permanent-magnet unit, it delivers position and velocity control for indexing tables, pick-and-place modules, and other motion axes that depend on closed-loop feedback. Its compact frame keeps the motor footprint small, allowing dense machine layouts while preserving the torque-to-inertia balance needed for precise industrial automation. Because the motor is intended for servo operation, the drive can regulate acceleration and settling behavior with a high degree of repeatability across short motion profiles.
This model includes a 24 V holding brake that secures the load when power is removed, reducing the need for external clamping on vertical or suspended axes. The motor uses 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, so power and feedback lines can be locked with a quarter-turn connection. The housing has a 58 mm frame dimension, which sets the mounting interface for compatible machine faces. Mechanical power is transmitted through an open keyway shaft, allowing pulleys or gears to be fitted with standard keyed hubs. A Rotor Length Index 1 keeps the motor short while supporting the continuous torque expected from this frame size.
The motor uses Alternative Flange Variant C, which provides a different pilot diameter for mounting. Commutation and position control rely on SFD feedback with 4 feedback lines that carry differential signals to the drive. The differential signal arrangement helps preserve feedback quality where electrical noise is present near drives, contactors, or other powered equipment. The encoder is a single-turn inductive device, so it avoids optical components and offers good resistance to dust and vibration. Winding designation C and the standard customization level place the motor in a common AKM configuration for continuous-duty automation cycles.
