Kollmorgen's AKM21C-CKB2AA-00 is a permanent-magnet servo motor in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as a compact rotary actuator for position and speed control in industrial automation lines, pairing with Kollmorgen drives for closed-loop motion on packaging, semiconductor, or material-handling axes. The model uses rotor length index 1 and winding designation C, a combination that affects continuous torque capability and voltage matching while keeping the package compact. Its permanent-magnet construction supports responsive acceleration and smooth servo behavior in compact machine modules where space is limited and repeatable positioning is required.
The power and feedback leads terminate on two SpeedTec Ready connectors, allowing quick tool-free mating. An integrated 24 V holding brake secures the shaft when the drive is disabled, which is useful on vertical loads or during emergency stops. Rotor position is measured by a BiSS B encoder with an optical head that produces 2048 lines/revolution, so the control loop receives 8192 counts per mechanical revolution after quadrature decoding. Because the encoder is single-turn optical, the position reference is retained through one full revolution without batteries, which simplifies startup after power cycles.
