Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the AKM21C-ANBNC-00 within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This brushless servo motor delivers controlled torque and speed in automated assembly cells, pick-and-place stations, and compact material-handling axes. It operates as part of a servo drive system, converting the regulated electrical output of a compatible amplifier into mechanical rotation. Closed-loop control allows the motor shaft to follow machine commands accurately during acceleration, positioning, and continuous-speed operation. Its compact design is suitable for machinery that requires responsive motion within limited installation space.
The motor has a frame dimension of 58 mm, allowing the stator body to fit the size-2 IEC envelope. Its front flange is manufactured to IEC accuracy class N, supporting concentric alignment with compatible gearboxes, pulleys, and mounting plates. Power and feedback cables attach through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, whose keyed interfaces support secure cable connections and maintain enclosure sealing. The motor is supplied without a brake, so stationary loads must be held by drive current or an external mechanism. Output torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which works with clamp or compression couplings and avoids the localized stress associated with a keyway. The rotor uses length index 1, while winding designation C identifies the installed electrical configuration. A standard customization level indicates that the motor uses the baseline configuration for this model.
Position feedback is transmitted over four lines generated by the SFD feedback system. The sensor provides single-turn inductive absolute position feedback, giving the drive a consistent electrical reference within each mechanical revolution without batteries or a multi-turn gearset. Its feedback components fit within a Size 10/15/21 housing, providing a compact arrangement for the motor frame. The inductive sensing method tolerates contamination and vibration encountered in industrial motion applications. Position data allow the connected drive to regulate commutation, shaft speed, and angular movement throughout each operating cycle. The short rotor configuration also supports low inertia, helping the motor respond quickly when moving small payloads or following frequent direction changes.
