The AKM21C-ANBNAA-00 is a servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for integration with servo drives in automated packaging, printing, or assembly equipment, this compact rotary unit converts controlled stator current into precise shaft torque and speed. The motor supports high-resolution feedback so the control loop can maintain tight positional accuracy during rapid indexing or continuous rotation in industrial automation environments. Low inertia and direct-coupled feedback enable smooth servo performance during start-stop sequences and multi-axis synchronization on conveyors, gantries, or inspection systems. The compact housing also helps the motor fit into machinery with limited installation space while retaining the responsiveness needed for repetitive motion.
A frame size of 58 mm establishes the motor’s outside diameter, while a mounting face with an IEC pattern and accuracy class N allows direct coupling to standard machinery. A smooth shaft eliminates keyways and provides concentric torque transfer when used with a clamp-style hub. This shaft arrangement also reduces the alignment issues that can occur when keyed components are installed with excessive clearance. For electrical commutation and position reporting, the integrated BiSS B encoder delivers incremental feedback at 2048 lines per revolution. Compatible drive controllers can interpolate the feedback signals to calculate fine rotor positions for high-bandwidth motion profiles and coordinated axis movement.
Connection to the drive cabinet is provided by two SPEEDTEC-ready connectors, which support tool-free quarter-turn mating and keep the power and signal circuits separate. The encoder supplies single-turn optical position data using the compact AD34/AD58 interface code, allowing compatible Kollmorgen drives to process the feedback protocol. The rotor stack corresponds to length index 1, and the unit is supplied without a brake, making it appropriate for applications that do not require the motor to hold a stationary load after power is removed. A winding designation of C identifies the electrical configuration used for resistance, inductance, current, and thermal behavior. Compatible drive parameters must match this winding designation so the current regulator and motor protection functions operate correctly during acceleration, steady motion, and deceleration.
