Product Description:
The AKM21C-ACDNC-00 is a brushless servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This permanent-magnet motor supplies finely regulated torque when paired with a compatible digital drive. Its compact form factor allows installation in tight machine spaces while supporting rapid acceleration and deceleration. The motor is used in automated tasks that demand consistent velocity control, accurate positioning, and frequent reversals, including packaging, electronics assembly, and material-transfer applications.
The mechanical interface uses an IEC flange with accuracy N that mates directly with standard gearheads and linear stages. A square frame measuring 58 mm across works with a shaft with a keyway, allowing positive torque transfer and straightforward coupling alignment. Winding designation C indicates the resistance and inductance characteristics used when pairing the motor with a suitable inverter. The unit is supplied with no brake, which reduces mass and minimizes reflected inertia in high-cycle axes. Power, signal, and protective-earth conductors are routed through a single i-tec Hybrid or SpeedTec Ready Hybrid connector. The manufacturing profile uses the standard customization level for this motor configuration.
The rotor length index 1 identifies the shortest magnetic stack offered for the AKM2 frame, lowering rotor inertia for light tooling. Position feedback is handled by the SFD module, which provides single-turn inductive feedback for absolute angle measurement within one shaft revolution. The feedback connection uses four lines to transmit position data to the drive. The encoder conforms to the Size 10/15/21 outline, allowing it to work with cable sets used by other compatible motors in the platform. This feedback arrangement supports responsive closed-loop position control during coordinated motion in servo presses, pick-and-place gantries, and other high-speed automated equipment.
