The AKM21C-ACBNC-00 is a compact synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The unit converts three-phase drive currents into controlled torque for precise positioning and speed regulation on smaller gantries, dosing pumps, and electronic assembly equipment used throughout industrial automation. It supports decentralized drive architectures by pairing with digital servo amplifiers through connectorized cabling. The compact design allows the motor to operate on motion axes where installation space is limited and responsive movement is required.
The motor has a 58 mm square frame, allowing it to fit within narrow machine footprints. An IEC flange with accuracy class N pilots the housing against gearheads, and the shaft has a keyway that secures pulleys or couplings under cyclic torque. The design uses rotor length index 1, the shortest magnetic stack available for the frame, which lowers inertia for fast starts and stops. Because the unit is supplied without a brake, applications that require static holding must rely on an external holding mechanism or drive-applied torque. Internal copper is arranged according to winding code C, matching drives that operate this frame size at moderate bus voltages. Power and signal lines terminate on two SPEEDTEC-ready connectors that use quarter-turn bayonets for tool-free mating. Position information is generated by an SFD sensor that outputs differential sine-cosine signals through a four-line feedback channel. This feedback format minimizes common-mode noise on long servo harnesses. The device measures angular position with a single-turn inductive resolver element, delivering absolute position within one complete revolution while keeping the sensor electronics resistant to dust and oil. Feedback dimensions follow the Size 10/15/21 format. The noise-tolerant feedback architecture allows the drive processor to resolve fine position increments without interpolation.
