Product Description:
The AKM13C-ANM22-00 is a miniature servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In automated machinery, it converts commanded current from a drive into precisely regulated motion, allowing accurate control of feed rolls, indexing tables, and small robotic joints. Its low rotor inertia supports rapid acceleration and short settling times, while its compact construction suits machinery with limited installation space. The motor can be paired with a compatible servo drive to regulate torque, velocity, and position during repetitive operating cycles.
A built-in 24 V holding brake locks the shaft whenever power is removed, helping prevent load drift on vertical axes. Position feedback is provided by a high-resolution sensor that delivers 2048 lines per revolution. The feedback device is a Comcoder, which combines incremental and commutation tracks in one package. Its single-turn optical format measures rotor movement within one mechanical revolution without relying on a battery. Feedback signals use the EPC 15T configuration, which supports the drive’s interpolation process for smooth velocity control. The motor has a frame size of 40 mm, allowing attachment to miniature gearheads and metric mounting plates. This frame provides a compact mounting surface while leaving sufficient housing volume for the stator, feedback assembly, and holding brake.
The motor uses a smooth shaft, which avoids keyway stress when connected through a clamp-style coupling. Its IEC flange has accuracy class N, maintaining concentric alignment within common tolerances for servo installations. The rotor length index is 3, balancing the magnetic stack depth with the available housing space and heat-dissipation area. Internally, the stator uses winding code C, providing electrical characteristics suited to compatible drives for compact motion axes. Standard terminations and feedback pinouts follow the regular AKM connection layout, which simplifies cable routing inside tightly arranged equipment. Cooling clearances should remain unobstructed so heat can leave the motor housing during continuous or repetitive operation. The coupling should also be aligned carefully to limit unnecessary radial loading on the shaft and bearings.
