Product Description:
The AKM12C-AKCNGR-00 is a compact synchronous servo motor supplied by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The motor functions as an electromechanical actuator that converts drive current into precisely controlled torque and speed. It supports axes that require rapid positioning or repeatable velocity profiles in packaging equipment, handling systems, and small machine modules. Its compact format allows it to operate in tightly arranged automation assemblies where available mounting space is limited.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so it does not provide holding torque when power is removed. External clamping mechanisms or drive-generated torque must secure loads at standstill. Power and feedback cables connect through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use a keyed, tool-free locking arrangement that simplifies cable attachment in crowded machine layouts. The motor mounts through a flange with IEC accuracy class N, providing a standardized pilot and bolt circle for proper alignment with compatible machinery. Its frame dimension is 40 mm, allowing the square stator housing to fit within narrow servo stages. A rotor length index of 2 indicates the second magnetic stack depth available for this frame size, balancing continuous torque capacity with the rotor’s moment of inertia.
Mechanical coupling is provided by a shaft with an open keyway, which transfers torque positively to pulleys, gearboxes, or rigid couplings. This shaft arrangement also permits connected components to be removed without permanently altering the output interface. The motor’s thermal and electrical constants correspond to winding designation C, a coil arrangement intended for moderate bus voltages and midrange current levels. Kollmorgen connector coding supports compatibility with the appropriate feedback devices and matching servo drives. The sealed housing helps protect internal components from contaminants encountered in industrial machinery. Proper drive configuration is required to regulate motor current, process position feedback, and maintain controlled motion throughout the operating range.
