The AKM11E-ANC22-01 is a brushless synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen as a member of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It converts stator-generated electromagnetic fields into precise rotary motion for indexing tables, miniature actuators, and packaging machinery that rely on deterministic positioning. Because the motor belongs to the low-inertia AKM platform, it accelerates and decelerates rapidly, supporting high cycle rates without excessive overshoot. Its role in industrial automation is to provide tightly regulated torque when commanded by a compatible digital drive, allowing machine builders to remove geared linkages and reduce maintenance requirements.
The built-in 24 V holding brake clamps the rotor when power is removed, preventing carriage drift on vertical axes. Power and feedback lines are routed through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing keyed, quarter-turn mating that shortens installation time in confined spaces. Position data is delivered by a 2,048-line-per-revolution incremental track inside the motor’s Comcoder, providing high-resolution feedback for tight velocity loops. Because the encoder uses a single-turn optical design, it measures the rotor position within one mechanical revolution. The feedback signals allow the connected digital drive to regulate shaft velocity and angular position during rapid indexing movements, controlled acceleration, and low-speed operation.
The mechanical interface uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, so the motor seats directly against compatible compact gearheads or machine frames without shims. A smooth shaft eliminates key-related stress points and is protected by an integrated shaft seal that limits lubricant leakage and dust entry. The front-to-back stack uses rotor length index 1, while the external frame dimension is 40 mm, allowing the motor to fit within miniature robots, laboratory instruments, and other space-constrained equipment. The EPC 15T optical sensor element supplies the feedback signal required by the controller, while winding code E identifies the installed winding arrangement. A balanced rotor helps reduce vibration and supports stable low-speed performance where smooth motion is important.
