The AKM11B-ANSNR-03 is a compact servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a rotary actuator, it converts commanded drive current into precise torque and controlled speed for indexing tables, electronic assembly stations, dispensing equipment, and other automated motion axes. Its compact housing supports accurate positioning in installations where available machine space is limited and responsive movement is required.
This model is supplied without a brake, so the drive or an external mechanical lock must hold the load when power is removed. Its power and feedback lines exit through a special connector arrangement, allowing customized cable routing within a restricted machine frame. The feedback system uses a resolver with two poles to provide the electrical angle needed by the drive for motor commutation. A robust resolver sensing element monitors rotor position and supports closed-loop control during rapid acceleration and deceleration. Internally, the transducer operates as a single-turn inductive device, allowing the drive to determine the rotor orientation after power-up without an additional homing cycle. Winding designation B establishes the motor’s electrical characteristics, while rotor length index 1 indicates the magnetic stack used for the available torque and speed range.
The feedback body follows dimensional code Size 10/15/21 and accepts the corresponding resolver mounting hardware. Mechanical attachment uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, supporting precise alignment with a compatible gearbox or adapter plate. The square frame measures 40 mm across, allowing the motor to fit into small automation modules without occupying excessive mounting space. Its smooth shaft avoids the stress concentrations associated with a keyway and transfers torque through a clamp-style coupling.
