Product Description:
The AKM11B-ANCNGD-00 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This model carries rotor length index 1, indicating the shortest magnetic stack offered in the 1-frame line. It targets point-to-point and interpolated axes that need repeatable torque delivery in compact equipment, such as laboratory pipetting arms, miniature pick-and-place heads, and semiconductor wafer-handling tools. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive acceleration and controlled rotary motion when paired with a compatible servo drive.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so an external mechanism or the drive’s servo-lock function must provide holding torque when motor power is removed. Power and feedback cables attach through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use keyed interfaces to enforce the correct pin orientation and support quick connection. Rotor position is measured by a HIPERFACE encoder that provides a primary resolution of 16 lines per revolution, and interpolation expands this signal for precise position control. The encoder uses a multi-turn capacitive sensing element, which stores the absolute turn count across power cycles without mechanical gears. Combined with winding designation B, the feedback system allows the drive to maintain accurate position and speed loops while limiting wiring complexity in space-constrained machines.
The motor uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing direct mounting to compatible planetary reducers without adapter plates. With an edge length of 40 mm, the square frame permits dense axis spacing and keeps the motor suitable for small motion assemblies. Torque is transferred through a smooth shaft, which works with clamp-style couplings and avoids the stress concentrations associated with a key slot. The drive reads the electronic identifier SEL34, enabling automatic parameter loading through compatible Kollmorgen startup tools. This identifier helps the connected drive apply the appropriate motor data for current regulation, commutation, and feedback processing without requiring manual entry of every motor parameter.
