Product Description:
The AKM11B-AKSNR-02 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Sized for light-duty axes in pick-and-place heads, laboratory feeders, and miniature conveyors, the unit converts drive current into tightly controlled torque and speed for accurate positioning and repeatable motion in automated cells. Its compact form supports installation in machines where available space restricts motor placement and cable routing. Electronic commutation allows a compatible servo drive to regulate acceleration, velocity, and shaft position as operating loads change.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so the drive or an external clamp must hold static loads when power is removed. A special connector arrangement routes power and feedback conductors in a custom orientation to clear adjacent axes and minimize cable-bending stress. Position sensing relies on a two-pole rotor resolver, which provides the electrical angle information required for motor commutation. Its analog coils tolerate temperature changes and electrical noise, making the feedback device suitable for demanding machine environments. Inside the resolver, a single-turn inductive secondary supplies the absolute shaft angle within each revolution without requiring a battery. The motor uses winding designation B for low-voltage operation, while rotor length index 1 keeps rotational inertia low for rapid acceleration and deceleration. Immediate position feedback also allows the drive to synchronize the motor when control power is applied.
A Size 10/15/21 resolver housing establishes the feedback body dimensions and supports cabling used with compatible AKM motors. The mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy N, allowing direct attachment to precision gearheads or mounting brackets without alignment shims. Its square frame measures 40 mm across, reducing the installation footprint when several motion axes are positioned close together. Torque is transmitted through an open-keyway shaft, which provides positive engagement with keyed couplings and simplifies mechanical assembly. The keyway helps prevent coupling slip during rapid reversals, while the accurate flange supports consistent shaft alignment under cyclic operation.
