Internal Product Review
The AKD2G-SPN-6V03S-A1DX-0000-A is a Kollmorgen single-axis servo drive with analog connectivity. A 1.28 µs current loop update and 9 Arms peak output current support sharp response and stable dynamic performance. IP20 housing protection and STO make this drive a well-engineered choice for panel-based motion control.

Product Description:
The AKD2G-SPN-6V03S-A1DX-0000-A is a drive module manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKD Servo Drives series. It converts line power from external rectifiers into modulated phase currents that control a permanent-magnet servomotor in industrial automation systems. Acting as the power stage in a closed-loop motion axis, the unit executes torque, velocity, and position commands for conveyors, index tables, and pick-and-place actuators. The controller adjusts motor current in real time so commanded motion remains stable as load conditions change during rapid starts, stops, and direction changes. A common DC bus can feed the drive and simplify cabinet layouts.
This model uses a Single Axis architecture, so all drive resources are assigned to one motor channel under Position Indexer firmware. The current regulator refreshes at 1.28 µs, which supports fast response when commanded frequency reaches 599 Hz on the stator. Under continuous load, it supplies 3 Arms, while short transients of up to five seconds can reach 9 Arms without a thermal alarm. Input demand on 240 Vac single-phase is 1.0 kVA. With a 340 Vdc bus, the power stage can deliver 0.62 kW electrically, and analog command and feedback ports with option connectors X22 and X23 support velocity or torque references from external controllers.
The aluminum enclosure measures 221 mm deep, 76 mm wide, and 235 mm high, which helps conserve panel space when multiple units are mounted side by side. Ventilation slots correspond to the IP20 rating, so the drive is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet that is free of conductive dust. The built-in STO circuit removes gate signals to the inverter without interrupting upstream power, enabling a Category 0 stop. DIN rail hooks and screw tabs support secure panel mounting in standard control cabinets without requiring separate cooling hardware.
