The AKD1207-NBCC-0000 is a drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the AKD Servo Drives series. As a digital amplifier for brushless servomotors, it provides closed-loop regulation of torque, velocity, and position in automated machinery lines such as packaging, pick-and-place, and material handling systems. By converting three-phase AC power into a controlled output for synchronous motors, the unit forms the interface between motion commands issued by a PLC and the mechanical axes on the factory floor. The hardware footprint favors control cabinets where multiple axes must be accommodated.
Its continuous phase current capability of 12 ARMS/Ø is the thermal limit for steady-state motor demand, while the short-term overload ceiling reaches 30 ARMS/Ø, allowing rapid acceleration without saturation of the power stage. The drive accepts an input range of 240, 400, 480 VAC, so one model can be used on low- or high-voltage plant supplies. Control and diagnostic traffic are handled through EtherCAT X5/X6; CANopen X12/X13 ports, enabling deterministic motion profiles or legacy CAN networking from the same device. Cabinet layout is simplified by the slender 70 mm width and a vertical profile of 256 mm, so multiple units can mount side by side with minimal air gap. A built-in CE line filter attenuates conducted emissions and removes the need for external filtering. The source side uses three-phase AC feeders, and the nominal apparent power at 240 V is 2500 VA.
The input must match a 50 or 60 Hz mains waveform, so the drive can be used on standard industrial power systems. Functional safety is integrated, and the hardware implements STO to remove drive energy within milliseconds. It is rated to SIL2, PL d, which supports mid-level risk assessments for presses, gantries, and palletizers. At 2.7 kg, the unit is light enough for rail-mounted assemblies.
