The AKD-P1207-NBCC-E000 is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen for the AKD Servo Drives series. This Position Indexer variant combines axis control, power conversion, and safety monitoring in one enclosure, allowing machine builders to issue direct move commands instead of streaming continuous trajectories. Designed to interface with modern motion networks, the unit energizes brushless servo motors from three-phase mains and sustains the precise position, speed, and torque regulation required in pick-and-place gantries, form-fill-seal lines, and automated inspection stations.
The drive accepts a three-phase input of 240/400/480 VAC from plant supplies operating at 50 or 60 Hz. Under nominal conditions, it delivers a continuous output of 12 A RMS per phase, while transient demands can be met with a peak capability of 30 A RMS per phase for five seconds before thermal foldback occurs. This current capacity provides a rated apparent power of 2,500 VA at 240 VAC three-phase, supporting mid-frame servo motors on conveyor or feeder axes. Motion and diagnostic data are exchanged through EtherCAT and CANopen connections, enabling synchronized multi-axis operation. These network interfaces carry real-time commands, operating status, and diagnostic information between the drive and the machine controller.
A hardware PWM stage operating at 8 kHz modulates the power transistors, reducing motor current ripple, audible noise, and electrical losses. The integrated safety channel provides the STO function for risk reduction through emergency-stop circuits. High-speed control is maintained by a velocity loop that refreshes every 62.5 µs, while the position loop closes every 271 µs to support precise indexing. The aluminum housing measures 70 mm wide, 185 mm deep, and 256 mm tall, providing a compact profile for dense cabinet layouts. The drive weighs 2.7 kg, limiting the load placed on cabinet panels and mounting hardware.
