The AKD-P04807-NBS3-0000 is a three-phase servo drive built by Kollmorgen in the AKD Servo Drives series. The device converts fixed mains power into controlled output voltage and current that follow torque and speed commands from a motion controller. In industrial automation, it supplies closed-loop power to servo motors so conveyor sections, feeders, and pick-and-place actuators can maintain repeatable position accuracy. By regulating motor current in real time, it supports smooth acceleration, controlled deceleration, and stable position holding during changing load conditions.

Delivered as the Standard USA variant, the drive is intended for North American installations. Its control core is configured as a Position Indexer, allowing onboard storage of motion profiles and direct step-and-direction control without an external PLC. Communication with higher-level systems is handled through Sercos III, which carries cyclic setpoints, status words, and diagnostic data over real-time network connections. That arrangement allows the drive to execute stored moves locally while still remaining synchronized with the rest of the machine. Continuous motor excitation is limited to 48 Arms, and the drive can supply up to 96 Arms for five seconds. The power section has a rated input of 40.9 kVA, so the incoming supply must support that apparent power level.

The input supply range is 240 / 480 Vac 3~, allowing the same unit to operate on either low-voltage or high-voltage three-phase factory power. This gives the drive broader utility in facilities that do not share the same incoming service. The standard-width housing weighs 11.5 kg, which affects panel support and handling during installation. In revision 8 and later, the drive has no expansion slot populated, so the base unit operates without an added option card in that opening. The enclosure remains at the standard size in this configuration, and the installed control and power functions remain unchanged.
