Product Description:
The AKD-P02406-NBPN-0000 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen in the AKD Servo Drives series. It converts command signals into controlled three-phase output for brushless servo motors used in material handling, packaging, and coordinated multi-axis cells. The unit receives feedback from encoders and adjusts voltage vectors in real time so machines maintain accurate torque, velocity, and position. This closed-loop operation helps the axis remain stable during speed changes, load disturbances, and repeated positioning cycles. Because the drive integrates power electronics and signal processing in a single chassis, it simplifies cabinet layout and reduces wiring complexity compared with discrete amplifier solutions.
Its Standard USA customization variant means the factory configuration complies with North American codes. The Position Indexer drive version includes a motion table that can execute standalone point-to-point moves without a separate PLC, which leaves network capacity available for other control tasks. Through PROFINET RT fieldbus connectivity, the drive exchanges cyclic data with Siemens-based controllers at real-time update rates, allowing deterministic coordination among axes. The continuous motor phase current capability is 24 Arms, which is the maximum RMS current the drive can deliver indefinitely under rated thermal conditions.
For transient acceleration or deceleration demands, the unit supplies a peak of 48 Arms for up to five seconds, giving machines margin to overcome static friction or sudden load changes. The power stage is paired with a continuous input power rating of 7.6 kVA for duty cycle S1. It accepts a 120 / 240 Vac 1~/3~ supply, allowing single-phase or three-phase installations across standard plant mains. With a chassis mass of 3.7 kg, the drive can be panel mounted without heavy support hardware while still providing adequate heat sinking. This input arrangement gives the same model flexibility in facilities that use either lower-voltage single-phase service or standard three-phase distribution.
