The AKD-P02406-NAEC-0000 servo drive is built by Kollmorgen and belongs to the AKD Servo Drives series. As a stand-alone unit, it interfaces directly with motion controllers and uses indexed positioning to move an axis to precise coordinates without external interpolation. It fills the role of the power stage by providing current modulation, protection, and diagnostic feedback that helps keep the motor within safe thermal and electrical limits during operation.
Delivered as the Standard USA variant, the drive is configured for North American installation practices. Its Position Indexer mode stores motion sequences internally, reducing network traffic during repetitive moves and allowing the axis to execute stored profiles directly from the drive. Real-time communication is handled through EtherCAT, allowing synchronized updates in sub-millisecond cycles when multiple axes share the same bus. The power input accepts 120 / 240 Vac 1~/3~, so either a single-phase or three-phase supply can be used without rewiring. Under continuous duty, the current regulator outputs 24 Arms, matching medium-frame servo motors that require steady torque at moderate speeds.
For transient acceleration, the inverter can deliver 48 Arms for five seconds, giving the axis additional headroom during rapid indexing. The drive supports a sustained apparent power of 7.6 kVA, which is the maximum electrical loading the cabinet must accommodate. At 3.7 kg, the enclosure adds minimal mass to wall or panel assemblies and fits well in densely packed control cabinets.
