This unit uses a local indexing function for single-axis motion, so it can generate motion profiles and send torque commands to a connected motor without depending on an external motion controller. In packaging, material handling, and light machining cells, it provides closed-loop speed and position control while coordinating feedback with field-level sensors to maintain repeatable travel and accurate registration. Because the motion profile is created inside the drive, response remains local and the amount of network traffic for basic moves is reduced.
At the drive level, the onboard motion logic supports homing, incremental moves, and table sequences without placing that interpolation burden on a PLC. Command and diagnostic traffic move across EtherCAT & CANopen, which supports deterministic cycle timing and compatibility with standard CANopen masters. That arrangement lets the drive exchange commands, status words, and related axis data with upstream control devices while keeping motion synchronized with surrounding equipment. The continuous thermal rating supports 12 Arms of motor phase current, while a five-second peak reaches 30 Arms for short acceleration demands.
