Internal Product Review
The AKD-P01207-NBEC-0000 is a Kollmorgen AKD servo drive configured as a Position Indexer with EtherCAT connectivity. Nominal current of 12 Arms and 30 Arms peak output current give the drive solid headroom for fast, controlled motion response. An excellent servo solution for demanding automation systems.

Product Description:
The AKD-P01207-NBEC-0000 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKD Servo Drives series. In an automation cell, this unit regulates torque, speed, or position for synchronous or induction motors, allowing a PLC to command motion profiles without analog tuning. By converting three-phase mains power into precisely metered phase currents, it closes the electrical loop between the motion controller and the motor so axes can accelerate, hold position, or follow coordinated trajectories according to the machine program.
This model ships with the Position Indexer drive version, so it can store absolute moves and jog sequences that run from digital I/O without an external motion card. Real-time communication is established over EtherCAT, allowing 100 µs cycle times and distributed clock synchronization. The continuous output capability is 12 Arms, which is the RMS phase current the power stage can deliver continuously without exceeding its thermal limit. For short overloads such as rapid starts, the drive supplies up to 30 Arms for five seconds before current foldback engages. Incoming mains may be either 240 V or 480 V three phase, noted as 240 / 480 Vac 3~, so one part number can be used in both low-voltage and high-voltage control cabinets. Under rated conditions, the input power drawn is 7.65 kVA, which is used when sizing branch-circuit protection, contactors, and regenerative components.
The ordering code is Standard USA, which means the connectors and fusing guidelines follow North American conventions. The hardware extension is None (rev 8+), so no auxiliary I/O or safety boards are installed. The enclosure weighs 5.3 kg, which keeps handling manageable during panel installation. Its housing size supports compact cabinet layouts where control components are mounted closely together.
