Kollmorgen manufactures the AKD-P01207-NACN-0073, a digital servo drive in the AKD Servo Drives series. The device functions as the power and control interface between a three-phase supply and brushless servo motors, executing closed-loop motion commands to position or synchronize industrial axes in packaging, printing, and semiconductor tools. Using current-mode control, the unit modulates PWM voltage to the motor phases and reads feedback from digital encoders, allowing tight velocity regulation even when the supply fluctuates. This closed-loop behavior helps maintain smooth axis response during starts, stops, and coordinated motion.

The drive is supplied in the Position Indexer version, so it can perform standalone point-to-point moves that are triggered by discrete I/O or by network commands. Integrated CANopen fieldbus support delivers cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic data to PLCs that follow CiA 402 profiles. Under continuous duty, the power stage can deliver 12 Arms of output current, matching mid-frame servomotors used in conveyors or feed rolls. For short five-second bursts, the current ceiling rises to 30 Arms, providing additional torque for accelerating high-inertia loads without oversizing the motor.

Line-side flexibility is provided by a dual-rated input of 240/480 Vac three-phase, and at the higher voltage the converter handles a continuous apparent power of 7.65 kVA in S1 operation. The electronics use revision 7 hardware on the baseline platform, and the unit is classified within the AKD Servo Drive product family. With a mass of 5.3 kg, the drive adds relatively little weight to the control cabinet and can be mounted on common backplanes without excessive panel load.
