Product Description:
The AKD-P01206-NBPN-E000 is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the AKD Servo Drives series. Supplied as the Position Indexer version, the module combines power electronics and motion sequencing so it can execute position tables without constant PLC intervention. In automated packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar machinery, it supplies regulated current to a synchronous servo motor, closes the control loops, and communicates with upper-level controllers through its integrated PROFINET RT interface. This arrangement supports standalone indexing tasks while remaining connected to the main machine network.
During continuous operation, the drive delivers 12 Arms of output current, while a five-second overload window allows up to 30 Arms for rapid acceleration. The power stage accepts 120 / 240 Vac 1~/3~ input, so it can operate from either single-phase or three-phase mains. Under rated load, the input requirement reaches 3.82 kVA, which is useful when selecting upstream protection and supply conductors. Its IGBTs switch at 8 kHz, which helps reduce torque ripple while keeping switching losses moderate. The drive includes an internal power supply, so no extra external supply hardware is required.
The inverter’s thermal profile shows 20 W of quiescent loss and 31 W of full-load dissipation. Energy rejected by decelerating loads is handled by a braking circuit that absorbs 100 W continuously or a peak of 11.7 kW for 0.5 s, which helps prevent DC-bus overvoltage. Control accuracy benefits from a 62.5 µs velocity loop refresh and a 272 µs position loop update, allowing tight following error at high speeds. The housing is 196 mm high, 78 mm wide, and 187 mm deep, and it weighs 2 kg for compact panel installation. The drive uses the Standard EU English customization variant.
