Product Description:
The AKD-P01206-NBCC-1000 is a digital servo drive engineered by Kollmorgen within the AKD Servo Drives series. The unit integrates into multi-axis motion platforms and provides the closed-loop control layer between an incoming AC supply and a permanent-magnet servo motor, regulating current, velocity, and position in response to command signals. By modulating voltage vectors in real time, it delivers the torque, speed, and positional accuracy required for industrial robots, conveyor positioning tables, and automated assembly tooling where repeatable axis response is important during start, stop, and indexing movements.
The drive’s continuous output capacity is 12 Arms, which supports medium-frame motors during sustained 100 percent duty operation without forcing the power stage into immediate thermal reduction. For short transients such as rapid acceleration, deceleration recovery, or impact load absorption, it can deliver up to 30 Arms for five seconds, giving additional headroom before current foldback occurs and helping the axis respond cleanly to temporary peak demand. Input flexibility is provided by a supply of 120 / 240 Vac with single-phase or three-phase input, allowing the same unit to operate from different plant power sources or smaller bench setups. Under rated conditions, this input corresponds to 3.82 kVA of apparent power, which is useful when selecting branch protection, upstream feeders, and panel power distribution.
Motion commands are handled by the Position Indexer option, enabling stand-alone sequence execution without an external PLC for simple coordinated moves or stored motion routines. Network integration is handled through EtherCAT & CANopen, providing deterministic cyclic data exchange and standardized communication for drive control, status feedback, and synchronization with surrounding automation devices. Despite its power rating, the unit weighs only 2 kg, which helps when mounting it on densely populated panels or compact machine frames where available space and support load are limited.
