Product Description:
The AKD-P0036-NBAN-0109 is a position-indexer servo drive produced by Kollmorgen for the AKD Servo Drives series. The unit controls brushless servomotors in industrial automation and supplies regulated current for precise torque, speed, and position control. Its embedded motion profiles allow a PLC to offload axis sequencing tasks while the drive executes local commands.
The drive accepts a single- or three-phase supply at 120/240 VAC and operates on mains at 50/60 Hz, making it compatible with common industrial power systems. Continuous output is limited to 3 A RMS, which is the thermal current that the internal electronics and heat sink can support during sustained operation. The velocity loop refreshes every 62.5 µs, while the position loop recalculates every 268 µs; these short intervals reduce following error in high-gain motion systems. The power stage modulates the motor terminals with a carrier frequency of 10 kHz, reducing audible noise while maintaining smooth torque production. Peak current can be maintained for five seconds, giving the axis additional torque for acceleration or disturbance rejection without exceeding component limits. Integrated functional safety is rated to SIL 2 and PL d, enabling safe torque off when external circuitry removes the enable signal.
The aluminum housing measures 59 mm in width, 156 mm in depth, and 168 mm in height, allowing dense placement in control cabinets while maintaining space for natural convection around the fins. Quiescent losses are 20 W and rise to 31 W at full load; these values help determine the ventilation or forced-air cooling needed to manage cabinet temperature. The drive weighs 1.1 kg, which reduces the load on the mounting backplate and makes the unit easier to position during installation.
