Product Description:
The AKD-N00607-DSEC-E000 is a decentralized servo drive produced by Kollmorgen as part of the AKD Servo Drives series. It belongs to the Near Servo Drive version, so the electronics and power stage are sealed to IP65/IP67 protection for installation close to a machine axis. Used in industrial automation, the unit regulates torque, speed, and position loops for brushless servomotors while exchanging real-time commands and feedback over its EtherCAT fieldbus interface.
The housing measures 75 mm in height, 130 mm in width, and 201 mm in depth, allowing placement in compact machine frames. A three-phase input of 240 / 480 Vac supplies up to 4.49 kVA to the drive, and its continuous output capability is 6 Arms with short-term overload to 18 Arms for five seconds. Internal losses are limited to 71 W at full load, and the PWM switching frequency is 8 kHz. The current loop closes at 2500 Hz, while the velocity loop recalculates every 62.5 µs to help keep the motor stable under dynamic load changes. Hardware provisions include a dedicated feedback connector and local Safe Torque Off circuitry, and the STO function is triggered directly inside the drive without external relays. The EtherCAT port, Standard EU English customization, and the sealed enclosure support distributed installation on European machinery.
When the axis is idle, thermal output drops to 6 W, reducing heat generation during standby operation. Total mass is only 2.7 kg, so the unit can be mounted on lightweight brackets or machine members with limited space. For high-precision motion, the position loop is refreshed every 267 µs, tying motor movement closely to controller commands. Functional safety reaches SIL2, PL d levels, which support applications that require certified risk reduction without separate safety hardware at the drive location. Mounting the drive near the motor can shorten motor cable runs and keep power, feedback, and safety functions in one sealed housing.
