The AKD-M00606-MCEC-E000 Ethernet servo drive is an efficient servo drive from the house of Kollmorgen. It is one of the fastest drives, which helps in achieving the most precise motion and the best output. The drive comes with EtherCAT bus choice, feedback devices, and additional options. The device should be used only in electrical and industrial plants and is not intended for residential applications. The continuous output power of the unit is 2000 Watts. The servo drive must be operated at an ambient temperature ranging between 0°C and 40 °C. The unit comes with a rated output current of 6 A with +/-3% tolerance. The absorption energy of its capacitors is 60 W at 120 V supply voltage and 20 W at 240 V supply with +/-20% tolerance. The drive’s DC Bus capacitance is 940 microfarads.

The device can directly control a 24 V holding brake in the motor. For its proper function, check the brake function (on and off) and voltage drop and measure voltage at brake input. The unit contains electrostatically sensitive components. If handled incorrectly, they can be damaged. So, the person should discharge himself/herself electrostatically before touching the drive. When touching the drive, there shouldn’t be contact with highly insulating materials, such as plastic films and artificial fabrics. The drive should be placed on a conductive surface. Only professional staff qualified in electrical engineering must decommission the parts of the system. When there is a danger of serious injury or death by electrical arcing or electrical shock, the main switch of the switchgear cabinet should be switched off and the system must be secured against restarting. The main switch should be blocked, and one needs to wait at least seven minutes after disconnecting the power supply.
