The device sits between a motion controller and a rotary or linear servomotor, regulating current and voltage so axes follow commanded profiles with tight accuracy. This arrangement lets the controller issue motion commands while the drive manages the fast electrical response required at the motor. It is intended for general-purpose positioning in packaging machinery, conveyors, and automated assembly cells. The drive also supports closed-loop velocity or torque control while returning status information that helps with setup and fault tracing.

The drive uses the Standard USA customization, so default settings and labeling follow North American conventions. Communication with the host controller occurs over SynqNet, a deterministic Ethernet-based fieldbus that supports real-time synchronization across multiple axes.
