The AKT-ECT-000-000 is an EtherCAT coupler manufactured by Kollmorgen. The EtherCAT coupler performs the essential function of connecting the Ethernet system with the electronic block terminals. The system comes with 6 bus terminals that can be increased to 255 with Bus extension. The system operates on a 70 mA current and comes with two separate RJ-45 interfaces. A 24 Volts DC power supply is required to operate the system. The system is capable of automatic recognition of the connected Bus Terminals. After recognition, the EtherCAT coupler automatically allocates the Bus Terminals in the EtherCAT process image. The AKT-ECT-000-000 can process 1024 Input and 1024 Output bytes. It can transfer data at a rate of 100 MBaud. The system comes with 8192 digital peripheral signals and 256 analog peripheral signals.

The AKT-ECT-000-000 is protected in accordance with the IEC 536 protection class. This gives significant protection against heat and ionizing radiation. The system’s enclosure protection class is IP 20. The device has dimensions of 49 mm x 100 mm x 70 mm (W x H x D). It comes with flexible installation positions and can be mounted on a 35 mm mounting rail. The AKT-ECT-000-000 has a dielectric strength of 500 V and weighs 170 g only. Owing to good quality construction, the coupler comes with approvals from CE and UL. The system can be installed at any location within the EtherCAT network (except the switch). The AKT-ECT-000-000 comes with an EMC resistance and ESD protection that is in accordance with the EN standards.
