The AKT-PSF-024-000 is a bus coupler that is used to connect the PROFIBUS system to the electrical terminal blocks. This enables it to be extended in a modular manner ideal for various specialized functionalities. It can be connected with up to 64 digital input/output terminals. The AKT-PSF-024-000 recognizes all connected terminals and automatically generates the affiliations of the inputs and outputs. It separates the inputs from the outputs. Its basic construction includes a Fieldbus connection, address selector, configuration interface, power LEDs, standard-Bus, and bus coupler supply. Other components include power contacts and input for power contacts.
The AKT-PSF-024-000 is compatible with all Bus Terminals and handling of analog inputs and outputs is similar to other bus coupler series. The Bus terminal is controlled by the control system. This is through the programmable logic controller (PLC), programmable automation controller (PAC), or function blocks (FBs). The data transfer medium is through shielded copper cable, the maximum cable length is between 100m and 1200m, and the data transfer time is approximately 3ms.
