The AKT-PS-024-000 power feed terminal belongs to the AKT IO Terminals series from Kollmorgen. It serves as a supply point that injects 24 Vdc field power into a string of I/O slices while refreshing the logic rail. Inside a control cabinet, the module provides an electrical breakpoint so downstream terminals remain bus-connected even when an upstream group is isolated. Its role is to partition and protect low-voltage control circuits without adding signal width to the process image.
The terminal accepts a field supply of 24 Vdc and can deliver up to 10 A of output current to adjacent I/O modules. For the internal electronics, it contributes an additional 1750 mA of logic power, allowing sensors and microcontrollers to draw current without overloading the upstream source. The housing is only 12 mm wide, so multiple feed points can be inserted in a row without sacrificing DIN-rail space. A single feed point is provided by the integrated bus contact, and an extra feed is available through one additional power contact, which parallels the main line. A protective earth connection is present through the PE contact to maintain a common ground across the terminal strip.
Status of the infeed is indicated by a green power LED, so live voltage can be verified at a glance. Because the module handles only power distribution, it occupies 0 bits in the controller’s process image, so no software configuration is required. Installation is simplified by pluggable wiring, allowing identical connectors to be used across all bus terminals in the row. The slender housing supports side-by-side mounting and still permits the standard bus to be looped through, so communication and voltage lines remain continuous even when segments are electrically separated by additional infeed points.
