Product Description:
The AKT-AN-410-000 is an analog input module manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKT IO Terminals series. Installed on the same DIN rail as the controller, it converts field voltage signals into bus data so the automation system can track process values in real time. By concentrating multiple measurement channels in one terminal, it reduces cabinet wiring and adds flexible sensing capability to distributed control platforms. This makes it suitable for accepting signals from transmitters, panel potentiometers, and other devices that present standard analog voltage outputs. The terminal format also keeps I/O expansion close to the control hardware, which helps maintain orderly cabinet layouts in compact machines.
This module provides 4-channel single-ended measurement and accepts a voltage span of 0 to 10 VDC. Each channel is digitized with a base resolution of 12-bit, while a dedicated 11-bit mode supports consistent reading across the nominal range. The input conductors use a 2-wire topology, so shielded pairs can be routed directly from transducers and other analog devices. Because the channels are single-ended, the module is intended for applications where all input references share a common signal return within the terminal assembly. During operation, the unit draws only 100 mA from the internal backplane, which helps limit loading on the system supply. The housing mounts on a 35 mm EN 50022 rail and fits beside other AKT terminals in a compact row.
Field diagnostics are aided by four front-mounted status LEDs, and watchdog supervision automatically disables data transfers if no refresh occurs within a 100 ms window. The watchdog function adds a layer of protection by stopping stale data from remaining active if bus communication is interrupted. Process images are delivered to the controller as 4 × 16-bit words, while a separate optional area carries control and status information in 4 × 8-bit blocks. Power is supplied through the backplane by the series’ Standard Bus interface, so no external jumpers are needed for routine installation. Rated to IP20, the terminal is intended for enclosed cabinets with touch-safe clearances. Its variable mounting position lets the unit be installed horizontally or vertically without affecting normal operation.
