The CVC600 is a compact motion control computer engineered by Kollmorgen within the AC SuperDrive Motion Units series. Designed for mobile or stationary automation platforms, it merges navigation inputs with real-time drive commands, directing servos, sensors, and safety devices over standardized field buses. By coordinating data from lasers, tape, or inductive guides, the unit provides deterministic control for automated guided vehicles and material-handling cells in distribution or manufacturing facilities. As a central controller, it replaces multiple discrete boards, streamlining system wiring and diagnostics.
The controller offers 11 analog inputs for level or pressure transducers, while 12 digital inputs accept signals from limit switches or proximity sensors that require on-and-off sampling. Motion feedback is supported through 6 encoder inputs, allowing multiple axes to be monitored simultaneously. After processing on a 32-bit RISC processor running Linux, command signals are issued through 16 discrete outputs that can drive relays, contactors, or optically isolated loads. An open architecture supports WLAN, LAN, CAN, and RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 connections, enabling deterministic exchanges among the controller, drives, and higher-level PLCs without proprietary gateways.
