The ACS4815-500F is a SuperDrive designed by Kollmorgen for the accurate monitoring and control of motion systems. This super drive is required to operate with an input voltage of about 48 volts. The drive is equipped with a heatsink with cooling fins and a flat mounting surface that makes temperature regulation easy and straightforward through a natural process of convection. The ACS4815-500F super drive operates with a modern AC flux-vector control technique for improved performance and operating efficiency; it can also be independently programmed to match the operation characteristics of compatible induction motors. A closed loop speed regulator is integrated into this super drive to ensure an unequalled vehicle speed control when moving, and a neutral braking system maintains position when the motor is at a standstill.

The ACS4815-500F super drive maintains a full four-quadrant operation, this enables the drive to directly accelerate or decelerate the motor in both forward and reverse direction. The housing of this drive is able to provide sufficient protection against large solids, and the drive is also fully protected against Undervoltage, overvoltage, overcurrent, and reverse polarity damage. There is built-in neutral start protection, which prevents vehicle motion on startup until the driver sees a zero-speed command. In the event of an operation error, the ACS4815-500F operates with an error/fault monitoring software which implements necessary measures to prevent unsafe operation of the vehicle and motor while the problem persists.

The ACS4815-500F super drive features a total software configurability which eliminates all operator adjustments and assures the absolutely reproducible performance of an identically configured drive. The ambient temperature suited for the operation of this drive is between 0 to 45 degrees; water condensation around the drive should also be avoided.
