Kollmorgen positions the ACS4815-500F as the interface between a low-voltage DC power bus and a squirrel-cage motor, supplying the modulation necessary for high-torque motion tasks in conveyors, packaging stations, and material-transfer axes.
The drive accepts a nominal bus voltage of 48 VDC, which is converted into a three-phase output whose stator frequency can be swept up to 250 Hz for wide speed ranges. Command and diagnostic traffic travel over CANopen, and the physical layer follows the ISO 11898 standard so it can share a trunk with other motion nodes. A watchdog window of 50 ms supervises incoming messages. If no valid frame arrives within that interval, the controller trips and forces the output stage into an inactive state after an additional 150 ms disable delay.
