The SM 71K-3000 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the 6SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop positioning and speed control, the unit converts drive output into precise rotary motion for packaging, material-handling, and assembly axes. Its electromagnetic assembly is optimized for medium-power automation tasks that require consistent torque accuracy and rapid response. The brushless design reduces mechanical wear because electronic commutation eliminates the need for brushes. A compatible servo drive regulates motor current according to position and velocity feedback from the connected control system.
The stator is wound for a phase-to-phase supply of 400 V and delivers a continuous mechanical output of 3.0 kW when the winding current is held at the rated 7.6 A. Shaft torque at that operating point reaches 9.5 Nm, while an overload current of 32.0 A can be applied during short acceleration periods.
