Product Description:
The 6SM 57M-3000+G is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the 6SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts electrical energy from a matched drive into precise rotary motion for positioning axes, packaging feeders, and similar machinery. An integrated permanent-magnet rotor and feedback interface keep shaft speed synchronized with commanded profiles, allowing tight velocity and position control throughout the duty cycle.
Under continuous load, the motor reaches a rated shaft speed of 3000 rpm, which aligns the mechanical output with standard servo drive frequency ranges for medium-speed production equipment. At this speed, it supplies 1.9 kW of mechanical power while delivering a rated torque of 6 Nm, so gearboxes are not always required for moderate load demands. The electrical circuit draws 4 A of phase current under nominal conditions, yet the windings can accept up to 17 A in short bursts. This peak current gives the servo sufficient capacity for acceleration or shock loading without saturating the magnets. Standstill torque is 8 Nm, providing holding capacity when the axis is commanded to zero speed.
The housing meets IP65 requirements, sealing the stator against dust and low-pressure water jets so the motor can be mounted outside control cabinets. An electromechanical brake rated for 24 V DC consumes 18 W and produces a holding torque of 12 Nm, preventing load drift whenever the drive is disabled. Position-loop tuning is assisted by a torque constant of 1.85 Nm/A, which links commanded current to produced torque for predictable response. The rotor has an inertia of 4.5 kg cm², supporting responsive acceleration in positioning applications. A winding inductance of 24 mH and resistance of 3.9 Ω support smooth low-speed regulation and stable current control.
