The 6SM 37M-6000-09 is a brushless synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen in the 6SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It supplies closed-loop rotary motion for pick-and-place actuators, compact conveyors, and other axes that need fast acceleration and repeatable positioning in industrial automation. Its electromagnetic design combines a permanent-magnet rotor with resolver feedback, allowing the drive to calculate precise shaft position for tight control loops. This arrangement supports electronic commutation without the brushes and associated wear components found in conventional DC motors.
Under continuous load, the motor delivers 0.5 kW while turning at a nominal speed of 6000 rpm. At this operating point, it produces 0.8 Nm of torque and draws a rated current of 1.5 A from the drive. The relationship between current and torque is expressed by a constant of 0.62 Nm/A, so proportional control commands translate directly into shaft torque.
