Product Description:

The ACO5030A is an indexer-driver module produced by Kollmorgen within the 5000 Indexer Drivers series. It combines motion sequencing and power electronics so that a single unit can position servomotors or stepper motors in automated lines, pick-and-place cells, or packaging equipment. By integrating command handling with motor power stages, the driver offloads path generation from the PLC and delivers tightly timed moves directly to the axes.

The power section can deliver a continuous DC output of 45 A, giving ample headroom for mid-frame servo motors during acceleration and deceleration. Overall conversion efficiency reaches 96% at nominal load, minimizing cabinet heat and reducing supply-side current draw. The input stage accepts either 50 Hz or 60 Hz mains; this dual-frequency compatibility is indicated by the rating of 50/60 Hz. Line voltage variations are tolerated within +10%/-15%, so the driver remains stable on facilities where utility swing is common. When supplied with up to 480 VAC, the internal rectifier and bus capacitors generate the DC link that feeds the output bridge. A braking resistor rated for 100 W continuous and 1000 W peak connects to that bus to bleed surplus energy during rapid stops.

Peak braking power capability of 1000 W prevents over-voltage when large inertial loads stop abruptly, while the resistor’s 830 Ω value keeps dissipation within its thermal envelope. Systems that operate on lower mains can wire the unit to the minimum input of 200 VAC without altering control logic. Reliable service is maintained at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C and installation heights to 2000 m. A 32 AT line fuse safeguards against faults, and the 10 mm² power terminals simplify code-compliant wiring for three-phase feeders and the external brake resistor.
