Product Description:

The ACO5020D is an indexer driver from Kollmorgen’s 5000 Indexer Drivers series. The unit combines motion sequencing, input/output processing, and motor power amplification so a machine controller can execute programmed moves without separate PLC hardware. By issuing high-resolution position commands and delivering controlled current to a connected motor, it supplies the core servo functionality required for automated material handling, pick-and-place systems, and light machining stations.

For command and feedback handling, a single differential analog channel accepts 0–10 V reference signals, while two independently buffered outputs provide 2 × 0–10 V process values for external recorders or drive coordination. Eight digital inputs allow step, direction, or limit switches to initiate moves, while four digital outputs report motion events to supervisory logic. A front-panel seven-segment status display provides immediate fault and position codes. Internally, the pulse generator can modulate motor excitation up to 5000 Hz, enabling precise control of high-speed axes. The power section can supply motor voltage up to 480 V AC. When connected to a 230 V supply, it provides up to 12 kVA of continuous apparent power for medium-frame servomotors in multi-axis assemblies.

When operated from a 400 V supply, the driver provides a continuous capacity of 20 kVA, with a rated line current of 20 A and a momentary limit of 30 A for acceleration bursts. Internal power loss is limited to 800 W, allowing cabinet airflow to be sized for the resulting heat load. Line conductors with cross-sectional areas up to 10 mm² terminate at screw clamps on the power block, simplifying field wiring. The enclosure measures 142 mm wide, 298.5 mm deep, and 329 mm high. These dimensions allow the unit to fit inside two-door panels without extending into adjacent cable ducts.
