The ACO5000R is a compact and state-of-the-art variable speed drive built by Kollmorgen to operate with machine spindles that operate at high speed and require a highly dynamic performance. This drive is discontinued by the manufacturer; however, customers can still purchase it in good condition and an additional 12 months warranty from Wake Industrial. The servo drive is a configurable device; operators who wish to modify operation parameters can do so through Windows-based programming software. The drive features a large number of freely programmable parameters. Also, up to 32 complete sets of motor parameters are independently stored and can be selected and used to control the operation of the drive. The ACO5000R servo drive is a CE certified and UL listed device, and its intricate design meets all international quality and safety standards.

During operation, the power supply module of the ACO5000R is expected to provide it with an input voltage of between 200 to 480 volts; this input voltage is supplied at a frequency of 50 to 60 hertz. A 10 to 15 per cent deviation in the input voltage is also allowed. The ACO5000R servo drive is integrated with a dynamic braking resistor with a resistance of 830 ohms; there is also a possibility to add an external braking resistor module to the drive.

At nominal load, the ACO5000R servo drive operates at an efficiency of about 96 per cent; this high operation efficiency makes it perfect for several automation systems. The maximum ambient temperature suited for the operation of this servo drive is 40 degrees Celsius, and the peak installation height is 1000 meters above sea level. During storage, this drive can withstand between -15 to 55 degrees Celsius without any risk to its quality.
