The E3.SM.000-340F is a synchronous servo motor built by KEB within the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As an electromechanical actuator, it delivers closed-loop position and velocity control for indexing tables, gantry axes, and other motion tasks in industrial automation. Using permanent-magnet excitation and electronic commutation, the unit pairs with KEB drive controllers to translate current commands into rotational motion that remains synchronized with the feedback encoder. This design allows precise torque delivery while maintaining compact dimensions suitable for mounting within a machine.
It achieves a nominal shaft speed of 3000 rpm, giving motion platforms a predictable velocity range. The motor is rated at 330 V for 400 V-class operation on a 560 V DC bus. At standstill, the motor can provide a continuous torque of 29 Nm, so static loads such as vertical Z-axes can be held under servo control. Thermal losses are removed through self-cooling, meaning the frame dissipates heat without auxiliary blowers or liquid jackets, which simplifies installation inside sealed machines.
