Product Description:
The E2.SM.000-4300 synchronous servo motor is manufactured by KEB as part of the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Sized in the E2 frame class, the unit is intended for industrial automation applications that require compact rotary actuation, including pick-and-place drives, packaging axes, and coordinated gantry systems. When paired with a compatible KEB inverter, the motor delivers closed-loop torque and velocity control so that machine controllers can execute precise positioning and motion profiles. This arrangement allows the drive to respond to changing loads while maintaining controlled acceleration, speed, and stopping behavior throughout repeated operating cycles.
Power is supplied through a terminal box that accepts armored or flexible conduit, allowing hardwired field terminations instead of molded connectors. Heat generated in the stator is dissipated by a self-cooling design that relies on the housing surface area, eliminating the need for external blowers. Rotor position is monitored by a 2-pole SSBH-15-E-5 resolver, which provides analog angular feedback for stable servo control across the operating speed range. The mechanical output reaches a maximum speed of 4000 rpm, providing suitable headroom for high-speed indexing while remaining below critical bearing limits. At standstill, the motor can supply 21.1 Nm of stall torque, enabling it to resist load movement when the commanded current equals the continuous rating.
Mounting uses a B5 flange with IFT5 compatibility, so the housing bolts directly to gearboxes or machine frames that use this interface. The stator and rotor assembly has a mass of 13.6 kg, which supports stable mounting and helps damp torsional resonance during rapid speed changes. The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP54, preventing harmful dust deposits and water splashes from reaching live parts during normal operation. Torque is transferred through a shaft with a feather key, providing positive engagement with compatible couplings or pulleys. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so an external mechanical lock or another suitable method must retain the load when power is removed.
