Product Description:
The D2.SM.001-3470 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by KEB and supplied under the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a servo-class actuator, it converts command currents from a matched drive into controlled rotary motion for indexing tables, pick-and-place modules, and other precision axes inside automated machines. Its electromagnetic design supports closed-loop positioning, while the integrated holding brake locks the shaft when power is removed. This brake provides secure standstill for vertical or load-bearing installations.
The motor sustains a stall torque of 8.2 Nm, providing continuous torque at the rated current without overheating. A nominal shaft speed of 3000 rpm provides the velocity ceiling used when sizing gear ratios or direct-drive couplings. Thermal management is handled through self-cooling, with the housing dissipating losses by natural convection so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. The windings support DC 330 V for the 400 V class or DC 560 V, making the unit compatible with standard KEB inverters that operate on three-phase mains. The IP54 enclosure limits dust ingress and protects against water splashes, supporting installation in general factory environments without a sealed cabinet.
A 2-pole resolver SSBH-15-E-5 is mounted on the rear endplate and supplies absolute rotor position to the drive for commutation and high-resolution velocity control. Mechanical integration is supported by a B5 IFT5-compatible flange that mates with common IEC gearboxes and adapter plates. The output shaft is supplied with a feather key to transmit torque to pulleys or couplings without slipping. The motor has a mass of 5.7 kg, which must be considered when calculating moving inertia and support loads. Its compact frame allows installation in motion axes where available mounting space is limited.
