The D2.SM.000-4400 is a synchronous servo motor produced by KEB within the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is built for industrial automation tasks where precise velocity and torque control are required, such as pick-and-place axes, packaging machinery, or indexing tables. By converting controlled three-phase electrical input into proportional mechanical rotation, the unit allows a drive controller to position loads repeatably without mechanical play or variable transmission ratios. Its electromagnetic design permits tight speed regulation under varying load, making it suitable for indexing, forming, and light machining stations found in automated production cells.
At its continuous operating point, the motor delivers 2.4 kW of mechanical power while turning at 4000 rpm. This output comes from a rated electromagnetic torque of 5.8 Nm as the stator windings carry 5.8 A from a three-phase 400 V bus. The voltage constant of 89.0 V/1000 rpm guides commutation setup because back-EMF rises linearly with speed.
